The Transport team makes sure Liniar’s products get from our facilities to our customers on time, in full.
THE POWER OF PLANNING
With a fleet of 30 vehicles travelling over 1.5 million miles and delivering more than 60 thousand stillages across the UK and Ireland annually, planning routes and managing loads is no mean feat!
The Transport and Warehousing teams are very close knit, functioning as the logistical heart of Liniar’s operations. Customers order online, and these are checked by the Customer Relations team (another crucial link in the chain), enabling Transport team members create an initial plan which is then shared with the Warehouse team. Once the plan has been confirmed it’s picked, checked and loaded ready for delivery.
Building rapport
We try to allocate regular routes for practical reasons as well as allowing drivers to develop great working relationships with customers. Our drivers very visible and we often get great feedback about things the things they do while on the road. We even had a member of the public contact us recently to say she’d seen a Liniar driver helping an elderly man to cross the road and it had, “restored her faith in humanity.” You can’t ask for more than that in a team member representing your brand!

A keen eye for detail is also crucial, both for accurate recording and interpretation of information and for tasks such as making sure vehicle maintenance checks are completed and loads are secured safely. Even though the fleet has GPS-enabled navigation, good geographical knowledge of the UK is always very useful.
