Our story
Liniar’s story started back in 1974 with the formation of PVCu extrusion company HL Plastics. Since then, it has grown to become one of the UK’s most innovative manufacturing businesses, designing award-winning product ranges and retaining a clear customer focus. Zero|90 Launch
Liniar launches an ultra energy efficient Zero|90 and Zero|90R 90mm uPVC window and door system, with fantastic sound-reducing properties and a recycled core.
£3 Million Mixing Plant Opens
Liniar opens additional, twin mixing plant with advanced technology to switch between rigid and foam PVCu, doubling capacity and maximising future efficiencies.
‘A Part of Something Bigger’
Liniar celebrates being ‘a part of something bigger’ with a group-wide Quanex brand refresh, aligning brand colours and introducing our new tagline.
NEW DECKBOARD IS LAUNCHED
Liniar launches its solid double-sided deckboard, SwitchBoard Ultra. Fitted like timber decking, the new board is perfect for gardens and public areas.
Carbon Neutral
Liniar continues its path to Carbon Neutral by replacing all of its fleet cars with electric vehicles and installing charging points on site.
SWITCHBOARD DECKING LAUNCH
SwitchBoard, Liniar’s double-sided PVCu composite decking system, is launched to great acclaim.
G Award Win
Liniar wins a coveted G Award – Covid-19 Hero - for the work it undertook making PPE visors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Liniar achieves phenomenal growth, hitting its 2024 strategic target 3 years early.

Despite supply chain disruption and soaring demand, the year ends with the business fully back on track.
Making Protective Visors
Liniar closes its doors for 6 weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic and begins manufacturing protective visors for key workers – winning two awards as a result.
Product Launch
The UK’s first double-rebated flush sash PVCu window, Resurgence is launched, winning Product of the Year at the 2019 National Fenestration Awards.
Sustainability Recognition
ISO14001 accreditation is achieved and Liniar is a finalist for the Sustainability Initiative of the Year 2019 at the G19 Awards.
Introduction of Elevate Squared Lantern Roof
Liniar launches Elevate Squared – a perfectly square version of the traditional rectangular lantern roof.
Reversible Window Launch
The fully reversible window is launched, with the Elevate lantern roof following later in the year. Fencing also became available in two new finishes – woodgrain foiled and composite!
