From the ground up
An absolute must for any decking system is for it to be strong, robust and safe – and Liniar’s choice of galvanised steel or aluminium sub-frames create the ideal maintenance-free base on which to build your
durable and secure
The Liniar sub-frame has been successfully load tested to 500kg/m². Even treated timber, sitting in wet conditions, will soak up moisture from the ground beneath it, as well as from the deck itself. Because they’re hidden underneath deckboards, timber sub-frames are unable to dry out naturally and will instead ‘sweat’ – a process that will increase the rate at which the timber rots. As Liniar sub-frames don’t absorb moisture and won’t rust, you can rest assured your deck will be safe and secure for many years to come.
Galvanised steel sub-frame
Liniar's original galvanised steel sub-frame is 150mm high and designed for use in elevated applications including holiday home decking such as around static caravans.
It consists of just two components – a galvanised steel ‘i’ beam and its connector. The sub-frame is connected into a grid pattern and the deckboards are fitted directly to the joists, meaning any deck built on our steel sub-frame may be extended, moved or repositioned with minimal risk of damage or disruption – unlike timber foundations, which are much more difficult to move.
Aluminium sub-frame (low)
Designed specifically for stand-alone decking projects such as gardens, play areas and more, Liniar’s aluminium sub-frame offers a versatile, maintenance-free alternative to traditional timber sub-frames.
When fixed together in portrait (low) orientation, it provides a 50mm high sub-frame that can be raised or lowered with adjustable feet (not supplied by Liniar).
Aluminium sub-frame (ultra-low)
The versatility of Liniar's aluminium sub-frame is such that when it's fixed together in landscape orientation, it is just 25mm high. This means it can be used in most stand-alone decking areas, so it's perfect for garden decking areas.
All sub-frame heights can be raised or lowered using adjustable feet (not supplied by Liniar) to reach the required level for your decking installation.
