When trade fabricator SGM Windows Manufacturing Ltd was approached by a local developer regarding the supply only of premium flush sash windows for a high-end development, Sales Director Stuart Bull knew it had to be Resurgence.

Stuart recalls, “Looking to achieve the traditional flush finish often associated with wooden windows, the developer originally specified timber frames. However, he was unaware the same classic appearance can be accomplished using PVCu but with a host of performance advantages.”

“Having fabricated Liniar windows for over 11 years, I knew their Resurgence flush sash range would deliver the desired style with much lower maintenance and significantly better thermal efficiency and lifespan compared to timber.”

Stuart continues, “With Resurgence we could offer colour-matched Agate Grey to complement the exterior shiplap cladding featured on the homes, with a White Grain inner face perfectly suited to the bright interior the project’s developer wanted all three properties to have.”

The Resurgence system can be manufactured with a variety of jointing options including mechanical and Timberweld® for a range of appearances and situations.

Stuart explains, “The Timberweld is a fabricating process requiring specialist software and skills, but it’s well worth the extra effort for a perfect finish. It means there’s no end cap needed and since these are available in limited colours, they’re noticeable when the sash is open. With the Timberweld you don’t get that, it’s a fine detail but makes the difference between good and exceptional.”

The properties also feature both single and double PVCu doors, combined with bi-fold doors from Liniar’s Alumina range.

Describing the choice Stuart explains, “The developer wanted to open large sections of the ground floor to the garden and patio areas for seamless access. The wide spans meant aluminium was a better choice for its added strength. But as Liniar foils all its profiles in-house, their entire PVCu and aluminium ranges are colour-matched, so there’s perfect continuity with the bespoke Agate Grey on Grained White throughout the build.”

“We also fabricated flush sash doors using the Resurgence profile to create Juliette balconies at the rear of the properties.”

Stuart concludes, “The project is due to be finished shortly, and the developer is extremely pleased with the windows and doors SGM supplied.

Being able to order both PVCu and aluminium profiles with bespoke foiling from the same supplier made things easier, and meant we had no reservations about colour matching across different materials. It also helped the build progress smoothly and to schedule.
