Local manufacturer supports Marehay Show

Since 1974, HL Plastics has been one of the largest employers in the Amber Valley. Located between Denby and Ripley in Derbyshire, HLP employees over 550 people from the local community in a variety of job roles spanning from finance and marketing to extrusion, design and engineering.

With such a large workforce coming primarily from the surrounding communities, the Senior Management Team feels it’s important to support, grow and help those communities as much as possible. From assisting local churches and supporting local football teams to raising money for charities in a variety of events, HLP aims to get involved.

On 7 September 2019, the annual Marehay Show returns, and visitors, employees and friends will be able to find HL Plastics there! Seeing an opportunity to support its employees and the local community, as well as letting potential employees find out more about joining this forward-thinking company, HL Plastics is sponsoring the show’s main marquee.

Chris Ward, a member of the show’s organising committee, is delighted about the company’s involvement, commenting:

“As a small, local event, we don’t have a large budget, so we rely on the generosity of the local community to help with increasing costs. The annual Marehay Show is a highlight in the local calendar, and brings together the community for a day of fun – and we’re grateful to HL Plastics and the team for providing the marquee.”

The show runs from 12 noon until 5pm on Saturday, and those attending can find activities including live music, folk dancing, children’s play activities like bouncy castles, exhibits and more. In addition to Marehay Park itself, you can also find lots to do at Marehay Chapel. There will be plenty of entertainment, food and events for the whole family.
