New modular hardware system from Liniar
Working in partnership with Yale Hardware the country’s leading name in lock technology, Liniar has developed ModLok™ modular hardware as a part of its overall commitment to developing industry leading products.
The company is committed to bringing new and exciting products to market to give its fabricators an advantage over their competitors who are using more traditional products; to driving cost out of the fabrication process; and to providing genuine USP’s for its customer base.
Combining hardware and reinforcement into one modular part, ModLok provides increased strength and rigidity whilst also including the highest security six point locking mechanism. Working with Yale Hardware as a partner on the development of this concept was the ideal solution for Liniar; Yale’s experience of developing the highest quality locks over 150 years of business gives ModLok an immediate market pedigree as well as unique design features, and as the most well-known brand in the eyes of the public it gives Liniar customers a product which they can sell into the market with great ease.
Liniar and Yale Hardware working together gives the market a product designed by the most innovative uPVC extrusion company in the industry and manufactured by the most well-known lock manufacturer there is. Speaking for Liniar Technical Director Adrian Redshaw says:
as a company our path is clear, we are committed to designing innovative products that give our customers something better performing than the products which are already in the market. At the same time we are helping them to reduce fabrication time and overall production costs whilst giving them products with a genuine sales advantage over those of their competitors. Partnering with Yale Hardware was a natural fit for us on this product and brings all their experience to the development of a brand new industry concept”.
“The first application for the ModLok is on the soon to be launched inline sliding Patio Plus system that combines aesthetic appeal and great thermal performance with strength and security. The uPVC and hardware elements have been designed together as a system, meaning that both elements are wholly complimentary in their use, and there is no reliance on having to make a standard market product fit.”
“The patented design of the system has enabled us to develop a product which we believe will really excite the market. The easy glide and silent movement of the patio in operation is a great selling point for our fabricators, and installers of the Liniar system, and the sculptured multi chamber design means that the Patio Plus already exceeds the thermal performance requirements of legislation coming to market in 2013 using the most cost effective sealed unit configuration.
It also offers six point locking including two genuine shootbolts, and another great feature for the end user is that all locking points are concealed even with the door in the open position, giving the first anti ligature patio door”.
The new Patio Plus compliments Liniar’s existing range of ‘Energy Plus’ window and door products with their outstanding thermal performance and great design features. This is the first application for ModLok, but is says Adrian “only the start of a whole programme of innovations which we believe will raise the bar in the industry on products which have often been neglected by systems companies when investment in research and development are considered”.
