Do 70mm French doors make good patio doors?
Yes! For a wide opening entrance between your home and your garden, Liniar uPVC French doors offer a perfect solution, thanks to slim sightlines and large expanses of glass to let in maximum light. A clever 'floating mullion,' or central vertical bar, is fixed to one door, meaning that when both doors are fully opened, the aperture is unobstructed. Ideal for easy access to outdoor spaces such as gardens, patios and back yards.
Do French doors offer protection against the weather?
Yes - every set of Liniar French doors includes a patented bubble gasket seal, co-extruded with the energy efficient uPVC profiles. This provides a continuous seal around each frame, helping to protect your home against draughts and leaks - including the very worst of the British weather.
How many different thresholds are available with Liniar French doors?
There is a choice of 8 different thresholds for Liniar 70mm uPVC French doors so you can choose the threshold most suitable for your needs. Please see the Threshold Options section above for more details. All Liniar low thresholds require no trench excavation, making them easy to fit.
Should I choose inward or outward opening French doors?
This largely depends on your interior layout and the space you have available outside your home. Choose outward opening French doors to maximise floor space inside the home, or inward opening if you are restricted on space on the outside. Outward opening doors are traditionally considered to be more weather resistant than inward opening - however full-sized 70mm Liniar French doors have been tested to the most stringent of British Standards, with both inward and outward opening French doors passing weather testing with flying colours, for your peace of mind.
