French Doors
Capturing European charm, Liniar's range of double French doors feature glazed panes with a signature 'floating mullion' to offer heightened standards of accessibility for wider apertures.
uPVC French Doors
Liniar uPVC French doors offer an attractive alternative to bi-folding or sliding patio doors where apertures are wider than a single door. Comprising a set of two doors, French doors open either inwards or outwards, with the central mullion (bar) in Liniar doors fixed to the ‘slave’ door to provide a wide, fully opening expanse when both doors are opened.
Liniar offers a choice of two 70mm uPVC French doors (one standard, one flush) as well as 90mm ultra energy efficient uPVC French doors, along with a fully aluminium heavy duty option.
Highly Secure
All Liniar French doors can achieve Secured By Design and PAS24 levels of security for your family’s peace of mind. And the large expanse of double or triple glazed panes, combined with Liniar’s slim, multi-chambered profiles, means Liniar uPVC French doors and aluminium French doors both offer superb energy efficiency, preventing the transfer of heat from the inside to the outside and saving homeowners money on energy bills.
aluminium French Doors
If you need taller or wider French doors, or anticipate heavy-duty usage, why not consider Alumina 70mm French doors? Offering a seamless flush finish, Liniar's aluminium range of French doors can be foiled to match Liniar windows and are ideal for pairing with flush sash or Resurgence flush windows.
French Door thresholds
When it comes to access doors, the threshold is important – and Liniar offers a choice of 8 different thresholds for French doors to suit your home and your budget. Choose from a standard frame-only threshold or add an external cill, low threshold or even a Part M compliant low threshold for mobility and pushchair access – your Liniar supplier will be able to advise on the most suitable option for your home. See individual product pages for more details.
uPVC French Doors FAQs
Do French doors make good patio doors?
Yes! For a wide opening entrance between your home and your garden, Liniar uPVC French doors offer a perfect solution, thanks to slim sightlines and large expanses of glass to let in maximum light.
Should I choose a 70mm French door or a 90mm French door?
The measurement refers to the depth of the outer frame, which is fitted into an opening aperture. The standard depth of walls in a UK property means a set of 70mm French doors is usually most suitable when replacing existing doors. Liniar has a choice of two types of 70mm uPVC French doors, along with a 70mm aluminium French door range.
For new buildings or extensions where walls can be built to a greater thickness, you may wish to consider Liniar 90mm French doors, which offer superb energy efficiency as part of the Zero|90 energy saving range.
Do French doors offer protection against the weather?
Yes - every set of uPVC Liniar French doors includes a patented bubble gasket seal, co-extruded with the energy efficient uPVC profiles. This provides a continuous seal to protect your home against draughts and leaks, including the very worst of the British weather.
How many different thresholds are available with Liniar French doors?
There is a choice of 8 different thresholds for Liniar 70mm uPVC French doors. From highest to lowest: Frame and Cill (87mm); Rebated Aluminium Threshold and Cill (70mm); Frame only (57mm); Rebated Aluminium Threshold (40mm); Low Threshold with Half Tray (33mm); Low Threshold with Full Tray (33mm), Low Threshold (30mm) and Part M compliant Low Threshold (15mm). All Liniar low thresholds are simple to fit and require no trench excavation - see individual product pages for more information.
Should I choose inward or outward opening French doors?
This is a personal choice and depends on your interior and exterior layout. To maximise internal floor space, choose outward opening French doors, or to make more of your patio or garden area, choose inward opening.
