What is meant by the term 'flush' residential doors?
Traditionally, uPVC doors overlap the frame when closed, so the seals can meet and work properly. The design of the ModLok™ flush residential door from Liniar means there is no overlap on the external side of the door, and the door sash or panel sits neatly within the exterior frame, in the style of a timber door - so it looks sleek and elegant, with no loss in weatherproofing properties.
If I have flush sash windows, which flush door should I choose?
This depends on whether you prefer uPVC or aluminium for your door! Both of Liniar's flush residential doors (70mm uPVC and 70mm aluminium doors) offer a flush fitting, where the door panel sits neatly within the frame with no overlap. Size may be a factor, with aluminium doors able to be built to larger sizes than uPVC, but if energy efficiency is a key criteria then uPVC doors can offer better U-values than aluminium.
What is ModLok?
ModLok is the trademarked name for the patented technology used in each one of Liniar's 70mm flush uPVC residential doors, as well as its ModLok bi-fold door range. It refers to the innovative exoskeleton that runs around each uPVC frame and combines reinforcement and locking mechanism, resulting in strong, robust and highly secure doors.
