90mm French Doors FAQs
I'd like a 90mm French door - will it fit into my existing aperture?
Many homes have a wall thickness most suited to a 70mm system (the measurement refers to the frame depth from inside to outside). A 90mm set of doors may be fitted, however there will need to be some adjustment to the internal plaster line and fittings, which may require additional work on the part of the installer. Please check with a qualified installer and get a full survey before ordering your Liniar French doors.
New buildings or extensions can be designed to accommodate 90mm French doors along with 90mm windows - ask your specifier for details.
Can I choose different coloured handles and hinges for my French doors?
Yes. Liniar French doors are manufactured by independent specialist fabricators, who use a range of hardware companies to supply handles and hinges, from plain white to black or metallic finishes. Ask your Liniar supplier for the options and colours they offer.
Should I choose a sliding patio door or a set of French doors to open onto my garden?
Both door options are ideal for letting in light to wide apertures, with large expanses of glass. A 2-pane sliding patio door has one fixed pane, so if both internal and external space is tight, it may be more convenient to have just one opening door that slides back. If you are able open both doors (either internally or externally) for unobstructed access, French doors are the perfect choice.
Can uPVC French doors be made with a Crittall-style appearance?
Yes they can! Your door manufacturer can add Georgian bars to your Liniar uPVC French doors to give a contemporary appearance. Speak to your chosen Liniar supplier to find out details of the options they can offer.
Is there a Part M compliant threshold available for 90mm French doors?
Yes - Zero|90 90mm French doors can be fitted with a Part M compliant low threshold, making them accessible for all the family. The Part M low threshold measures just 15mm high, or you can choose from one of Liniar's other threshold options - see above. All Liniar low thresholds are simple to fit and require no trench excavation.
